With Workable connected, moving a candidate to a stage you choose invites them to an assessment, and when they finish, a comment with the result appears on their timeline in Workable.
Connect
- In Workable, open the menu at the top right and choose Integrations, or go to your account's Settings, then Integrations. Click Generate new token.
- Give the token a name, and tick these scopes: read jobs (
r_jobs), read candidates (r_candidates) and write candidates (w_candidates). Copy the token; Workable shows it once. - In Test Candidates, go to Settings, then Integrations, find
Workable and click Connect. Paste the token and enter your Workable
subdomain: the first part of your Workable address, so
acmeforacme.workable.com.
Test Candidates checks the token with Workable before saving anything. Only admins can connect. Anyone with the token can read your candidates, so keep it private. Some Workable plans need an account owner to allow third-party webhooks; if stage moves do not arrive, check that setting in Workable.
Choose the stage and the assessment
- On the Workable card, click Add trigger.
- Pick a pipeline stage, such as Assessment, and the assessment it should send. You can limit a trigger to one Workable job, or leave it for every job.
The stages offered are the ones on your pipeline in Workable. If you rename a stage in Workable, pick it again here.
What the candidate gets
When a candidate is moved to that stage, they receive the usual Test Candidates invitation email, with your branding and the assessment link. Someone already invited to that assessment is not invited again, and a candidate moved to the stage twice gets one invitation.
What comes back, and when
When the candidate finishes every test on the assessment, Test Candidates posts one comment on their timeline in Workable, from the first admin on your Workable account. The comment names the assessment, lists each test with its score, and links to the full report in Test Candidates.
Comments are posted a minute or so after the candidate finishes, so that all of their tests are included.
Locked results
If a result is locked, the comment says the assessment is complete and that the result is locked, with the link to the report. It carries no scores. When you unlock the result in Test Candidates, a second comment is posted with the scores. Scores never appear in Workable before you have unlocked them.
Disconnect
On the Workable card in Settings, Integrations, click Disconnect. Test Candidates removes its webhook from Workable and forgets the token. Your candidates and results stay in Test Candidates. You can also revoke the token in Workable under Integrations, which stops the connection from its side.
