With JobAdder connected, moving a candidate to a status you choose invites them to an assessment, and when they finish, a note with the result appears on their job application in JobAdder.
Connect
- In Test Candidates, go to Settings, then Integrations, and find JobAdder under applicant tracking systems.
- Click Connect. JobAdder asks you to sign in and to allow Test Candidates to read and update your account. You need to be a JobAdder administrator, or a user with permission to grant API access to integration partners.
- You come back to Test Candidates with the connection showing your JobAdder account name.
Connecting registers a webhook in your JobAdder account so that JobAdder tells us when an application changes status. Nothing else in JobAdder changes.
Choose the status and the assessment
On the JobAdder card, add a trigger: pick one of your job application statuses (JobAdder shows them with their workflow stage, for example "Assessment (Screening)") and the assessment it should send. You can add more than one trigger, and you can limit a trigger to one JobAdder job so different roles send different assessments.
Statuses are shared across your JobAdder account, so a status chosen here applies to every job unless you limit the trigger to one.
What the candidate gets
When a recruiter moves an application to that status, the candidate gets the usual Test Candidates invitation email, with their name taken from the JobAdder record. Someone already invited to that assessment is not invited again, and moving the same application to the status a second time does nothing.
The candidate needs an email address on their JobAdder record. An application without one is skipped and recorded against the connection.
What comes back, and when
When the candidate finishes the assessment, Test Candidates adds a note to the job application in JobAdder:
- If the result is unlocked, the note carries each test's score and a link to the full report.
- If the result is locked, the note says the assessment is complete and links to the report, with no scores. When you unlock the result in Test Candidates, a second note with the scores follows.
Notes arrive shortly after the candidate finishes, usually within a couple of minutes.
Locked results
Scores never reach JobAdder until the result is unlocked, the same as everywhere else in Test Candidates. The locked note is a prompt to unlock, not a result.
If the connection stops working
JobAdder's access expires if it is not used for two weeks, and ends when the JobAdder user who connected is removed. The card then shows Reconnect; click it and sign in to JobAdder again. Your triggers and history are kept.
JobAdder also pauses a webhook after repeated failed deliveries. Reconnecting re-enables it.
Disconnect
On the JobAdder card, click Disconnect. Test Candidates removes its webhook from your JobAdder account and forgets the access it was given. Candidates and results already in Test Candidates stay where they are.
