One unit, three ways of paying for it. Current prices are on the plans page and on your billing and usage page; this article explains the mechanics rather than the numbers.
The unit: one candidate
You are charged per candidate whose results unlock, once, however many tests are in their assessment.
Not per test. Not per invitation. Not per seat on your team. A candidate who takes one test and a candidate who takes five cost exactly the same, and adding colleagues to your account costs nothing.
The three ways of paying
Free candidate results. Every organisation gets an allowance of free results when it is created. They are permanent, they never expire, and no card is needed. See your free candidate results.
Prepaid packs. Buy a block of candidates in advance at a lower rate per candidate. One payment, no subscription, and the balance never expires. See buy a candidate pack.
Pay as you go. No commitment. Put a card on file and results unlock automatically as candidates finish, invoiced monthly in arrears. Use nothing and pay nothing. See pay as you go.
The order they are used in
Always the same:
- Free allowance first, until it is used.
- Prepaid balance next, until it is empty.
- Pay as you go, and only if you have already saved a card.
You never have to choose which pot a candidate comes out of. It is not possible to be charged while you still have free results or a prepaid balance.
If none of the three applies
Results wait. The candidate has still taken the assessment, their answers are stored, and the score shows as Locked in your lists. Adding a card or buying a pack releases them, and anything already unlocked stays readable.

What is never charged
- Inviting candidates, however many.
- A candidate who registers and never completes a test.
- Extra tests for a candidate you have already been charged for.
- Team members.
- Archiving, exporting or downloading anything.
Older annual plans
Organisations that were on an annual plan before per-candidate billing keep it and it renews as before, with a self-serve way to switch. If you are on one, your billing page shows your plan rather than the packs above.
